Where was I? My husband, a much-decorated-with-medals, retired military man who served twice in Viet Nam, was just home from work as a security guard. He turned on the TV while he was preparing my breakfast so I could go to work. I was in the shower, and he yelled out so loud in anger and distress that I grabbed a towel, left the water running, and ran through the house to him to find out why. He could only point at the TV, tears streaming down his face. I looked. I stumbled to the couch. We saw the whole thing unfold on the screen. We are both military veterans of Viet Nam, and we both sat there and cried. We also wanted to go buy a gun and prepare ourselves to protect this land we love. We didn't. Instead we prayed for everyone. The pain of that day still remains with me. 10 years has not diminished that pain, or much of the initial shock of that day. Anyway, that's my story. and yes, I went to work, was late getting there, and absolutely everyone was talking about it, trying to believe that it really happened. Not knowing why it happened. And calling their loved ones constantly all day to tell them "I Love You." That was 10 hours well-spent creating your tribute. Where was I?

I was in my kitchen cleaning, went into the frontroom when i heard what was on the tv. I know I had a look of shock on my face, I couldn't say anything and when I saw what was happening my eyes started watering, still do everytime I see pictures of that day. It will always be a sad day for me. I just don't know how anyone could hurt anyone that way and be okay with it. It still seems unreal. I live in Canada but We were affected by this horrible part of history. I was only 15 yrs old at the time but I remember hearing about it at school but didnt quite get the whole story. Today is my grandmothers birthday and on her birthday that year when i came home it was on the television. She thought it was a movie she didnt understand why her show had turned to the live broadcast of what was happening. It was Crazy you could see people jumping out of windows just trying to survive. It was a horrible ordeal and we should all take the time to remember all the people who worked there,the families and the ones who did and didnt survive. Lets try to make sure something like this NEVER happens AGAIN..Thank you for putting this out there i hope alot of ppl see it.
